Google has unveiled its national Super Bowl 59 commercial, “Dream Job,” telling an emotional story of a father’s love for his daughter and how Google AI tools assist him in transitioning into a new job opportunity.
Developed by Google’s in-house creative team, the campaign showcases the practical applications of AI while delivering an emotionally resonant message.
The ad follows a father using Gemini Live to prepare for a job interview, with the AI assistant helping him refine his answers by drawing upon his personal experiences as a parent—from negotiating bedtime stories to collaborating on family Halloween costumes.
Directed by Henry-Alex Rubin and produced by Smuggler, the full-length version runs over two minutes, while a condensed 60-second cut will air nationally during the second quarter of the Super Bowl.
In another ad, “Party Blitz,” even though the boyfriend ends up fumbling at times, the spot aims to be a relatable story that shows how AI can help people navigate unexpected situations with a little more knowledge about what’s going on thanks to Gemini helping them out.
50 Stories, 50 States
Alongside the national campaign, Google is launching an ambitious initiative titled “50 Stories, 50 States.” This effort includes 50 unique state-specific commercials, each spotlighting a small business that leverages Google Workspace and AI-driven tools.
As the company describes it:
“If you live in Texas, you’ll see Bison Coolers, while residents of Oregon will be introduced to the team at Jacobsen’s Salt Co. Each of these small businesses is driving the American economy — and for this first-of-its-kind project, we’re spotlighting their innovation, grit and hard work, as they find new and incredible ways to use AI to transform how they work and do more of what they love.”
Each 30-second ad was developed with the assistance of Google AI, which analyzed thousands of businesses to identify compelling narratives. AI also played a role in script editing, ensuring each spot effectively conveyed its message.
Led by Google Workspace’s global marketing chief Harris Beber, “50 Stories, 50 States” aims to showcase AI’s potential for entrepreneurs.
“We wanted to show what’s possible with AI in Workspace today, and how real businesses are using it,” Beber stated in a Google blog post.
“What better way to illustrate the unexpected ways AI helps real businesses in America than to let them share their stories?”
